Sun, wind and clouds on the landscape

I love the way the sun and the wind shimmer the grass and the sun and clouds dapple the valleys. Posted by Picasa

Morel mows the lawn. The calves get a free lunch from Gina's Whole Food Kitchen!

Feeding time over the garden wall.

The calf likes the food.

Lapwing Chick hiding in the mud - a joy of spring

Driving into the gateway this evening, I noticed a lapwing (tewit) in the road... Very unusual, so I guessed she must be with her chicks. I got out of the car to take a look. Sure enough, two beautiful little chicks were running away from me. They are brilliantly camoflaged, so they just crouch when danger comes.
I took this photo from my phone.
Lapwings nest on the ground on wet and slightly wild fields.
Tewit Cote means Lapwing Cottage or Lapwing House like a Dove Cote is a Dove House...
I left this creature quickly since I couldn't help feeling it must be cold crouched in the damp. Posted by Picasa
